Staff were all friendly. The hotel has real old character too it as well as new part, we were lucky to be in the main building as we had upgraded to a privilege room and it was worth it. It's lovely big and airy. Plenty of parking. We didn't eat in the main restaurant in the evening but the bar food was good and quite a few people were eating meals in the bar, plenty of choices. I found our room very hot as no air con in the old part, but Tom was straight on the case and sorted it out for me. He was super helpful and friendly, and I didn't feel like I was causing him an issue. He took it in his stride, sorting out the problem, and made us feel welcome every day he saw us. We used the spa area, and the pool was used by all, so it was a little noisy. However, the steam room, etc, is in a different area, so no children are allowed in, and there are beds so you can relax in a quieter area. We were here for 4 nights and enjoyed our whole break at the hotel. The cleaners as well were very professional, always polite and welcoming, and the room was always made up well. We found the bed really comfy, and we actually slept well, even the first night, which we never normally do. All in all, we had a great experience, and we would recommend this hotel

A lovely hotel with real character and in a nice country setting. Our priviledge class room overlooked the lake and was clean and spacious and a nice comfy bed. The hotel staff were friendly & helpful, a special mention to the guy on reception who helped with our taxi and restaurant booking in Shrewsbury town centre the night we stayed. Fully recommend a night out in Shrewsbury (£10 taxi) and La Lanterna Italian which was a real gem of a find - highly recommend! Leisure centre is one of best we have seen in a hotel, with pool, spa tub and three sauna / steam rooms and an ice room (didnt stay long in there - lol) and beds to relax on around the pool. Breakfast was buffet self-serve and was fine. Overall fantastic value for money and we will definately be booking again.

What an amazing place to stay! Beautiful surroundings to take a walk in. Our only regret was that it was a one night stay! We will definitely be coming back to cycle round the area and be based in the hotel. The food in the bar was great and they served us our meal happily despite our late arrival. They ran the kitchen right up to the end of serving time. The breakfast was very good. Staff were friendly and very accommodating. The receptionist was very helpful in finding us somewhere to put the bikes safely overnight. Thank you. This was our last night away together before getting married on Friday and it was perfect for us.

Beautiful buildings in beautiful surroundings. Everything is spotless and the grounds are very well kept. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was very spacious and comfortable. It had everything we need, and there was even a little fridge which was a surprise! We arrived late and had to leave early so didn't have chance to sample the food or get chance to enjoy the facilities or surroundings, but as we enjoyed the short time there so much, we will definitely be returning. We would highly recommend this place, especially if you just want to escape the hustle and bustle (although it's not far to Shrewsbury)

The staff, including on booking in, for queries at reception throughout our stay, at breakfast and at the leisure/spa centre were all fantastic - friendly and professional, could not have been more helpful. The rooms were well appointed and comfortable. The breakfast was enjoyed by adults and children. The hotel surroundings were beautiful and relaxing. There was an incident involving another guest's car alarm going off at 3am - this was not the hotel's fault, and the staff handled it swiftly and professionally, offering apologies and assistance. It was quickly resolved. Overall we really enjoyed our stay.
